Finding the time as a registered nurse working shifts in hospital emergency wards to volunteer with House With No Steps is just one of the reasons Laura Zipf is a Classic Hero. Working at “Debbie Way”, a disability accommodation service where 3 young ladies are supported who have extremely high needs physically, intellectually, medically and behaviourally, it is a challenging environment and one that Laura has jumped into without hesitation.
Laura brings with her a wealth of experience and compassion in dealing with people of all ages who are in difficult situations. She is very understanding, has great communication skills, and is always willing to spend time interacting with the ladies in discussions, reading, arts and crafts and walks. The ladies in Debbie Way love her visits and usually greet her with hugs and smiles.
